Having qualified in 2002, Alison has worked in commercial private practice in the UK and Asia. Alison is a construction specialist with extensive experience advising consultants, contractors, banks and public/private sector developers on all aspects of construction procurement and delivery. While working in private practice, a key element of Alison's experience related to advising clients within the education sector.
Alison joined Barbri in 2002 and has acted as freelance tutor for QLTS and now coaches candidates on our SQE2 Prep course

Anna Steiner

Anna qualified as as solicitor in 1999 and practised at Islington Law Centre specialising in housing law . Anna joined the College of Law in 2006 and taught on the BPTC ,LPC and GDL before joining the University of Westminster in 2018 as a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Legal Advice Clinic. Anna joined the Barbri team in 2022 as a tutor on the SQE2.

Anthony Smith

Anthony qualified as a solicitor at Ison Harrison in 1997. He has lectured on University of Western Sydney LLB course and Shanghai International MBA Program for over 15 years. He returned to the UK in 2015 to work for Newby Property Development as Legal Manager and later worked at BPP University as an Assessor. In 2022 Anthony joined the BARBRI team to work as a legal assessor on the QLTS and SQE 2 programmes.

Chris Jorgenson

Chris is a dual qualified lawyer (England & Wales and U.S.) with over 10 years' experience in dispute resolution. Chris focused his practice on insurance defense and land use disputes in the U.S. before moving to England. Between 2017 and 2023, Chris worked for BARBRI Global as part of the senior management team that developed and brought the BARBRI SQE Prep course to market. He now works as a commercial in-house lawyer in the green energy space for a UK-based company.

Edwin Parks

Edwin is a tutor for BARBRI. He is a barrister qualified in both England and Wales and in New Zealand. In England and Wales he has appeared in both civil and criminal litigation. In New Zealand he formerly practised as a solicitor specialising in both commercial and criminal law. He has taught at the University of Law on both the LPC and BPTC. Currently, he specialises in European Union law, international law, ADR and immigration and Asylum law.

Elaine qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and began her career as a commercial property lawyer. During her years in practice, she worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from high value property developments such shopping malls and sports stadiums to smaller commercial lease transactions. More recently, Elaine has been involved in training the future generation of lawyers at both undergraduate and vocational levels. -

Gill is a tutor with BARBRI. Gill qualified as a solicitor with Wace Morgan in Shrewsbury specialising in Property, Wills and Trusts . She then went on to work for the University of Law where she became an Associate Professor. Gill designed courses and exams for the University of Law, the Open University and Cilex as well as gaining many years of teaching experience. -
John Trimbos

John Trimbos studied law at St. John's College, Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in 1988. He started his professional life with the Treasury Solicitor's Department, before moving to the private sector in the early 1990s.
In the mid-1990s he began lecturing at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice before moving back to the City. He has worked with the top City law firms as a transactional lawyer and latterly as an in-house training manager. He is now a freelance associate trainer for BARBRI.

Kenny Ip

Kenny joined BARBRI in February 2023 as a Tutor. Since joining BARBRI, Kenny has conducted interviewing and advocacy assessments and has assisted in drafting multiple choice exam questions.
Kenny qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 and remains in full time practice in a national high street firm where he is a Director and Head of the Litigation Department for his region. Kenny specialises in Civil and Commercial litigation, but also advises and conducts cases in the areas of Criminal Law, Employment Law and Family Law.

Khurram Qureshi

In Pakistan, Khurram Amir Qureshi became qualified to practice law in 2004. He authored twenty-eight law guides for Pakistani students. 2009 saw him become a solicitor of England and Wales, and from 2012 to 2015, he served as one of Abbott Solicitors Luton's founding partners. He started his own legal practice in 2015 and is currently the head of a Luton law firm. He specialises in immigration law and personal injury Law. In 2012, he earned the Teaching in Further Education Qualification (DTLLS). Since 2015, he has been an Ireland's non-practicing solicitor. He taught company law, commercial law and employment law as a visiting lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire in 2022–2023 to graduate and postgraduate students. In 2023, he joined the BARBRI team as a trainer on a part time basis -
Laura Rowley

Laura is a freelance tutor for BARBRI on the SQ2 prep course. Laura trained at Eversheds LLP before moving to DLA Piper upon qualification in 2007, specialising in regulatory law, including health and safety and environmental law. She later moved in-house to prosecute environmental crimes for the Environment Agency. More recently, Laura worked as a regulatory solicitor for Birmingham City University dealing with student issues such as fitness to practise and consumer law. Laura joined the BARBRI team in July 2022 as a freelance tutor on the SQE2 preparation course. Laura particularly enjoys helping students with advocacy assessments. -
Lauren Fullerton

Lauren has lectured in legal education, both academically and professionally for fifteen years. She started her career as a Barrister and subsequently cross qualified as a Solicitor in 2021. She specialises in property law, trusts, and tax. Lauren has taught extensively across a broad range of subject areas and in many different institutions to include the University of Essex University College Dublin and Queen’s University of Belfast, both at the School of Law and at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies. She has also held a full-time post as Undergraduate Programme Director and Senior Lecturer in Property Law at Griffith College Dublin. Lauren co-authored “The Law of Property in Northern Ireland” (ColourPoint, 2014), which is a textbook providing a concise and accessible introduction to principles of property law in Northern Ireland. The book provides an essential resource for those seeking to teach, practice or understand property law in the jurisdiction. Lauren is a member of Gray’s Inns and is also an accredited mediator, a member of the worldwide organisation STEP, and a member of Queens’ College Cambridge, having just completed an MPhil in Land Economy by thesis.
Lauren is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority and has completed a PGCLT. She is currently undertaking the Master of Teaching (MTeach) Programme at Stranmillis University College, Belfast.

Richard Cartwright

Richard practised at a ‘Legal 500’ firm for 20 years specialising in civil litigation. Richard has also taught on and examined the Legal Practice Course at a Midlands university for several years and delivered training for CILEX courses, both Level 3 and Level 6. Richard is an Associate Lecturer for The Open University and teaches on the LLB degree course. Richard holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and now coaches candidates on the SQE2 preparation courses.

He was formerly a partner with a firm in Manchester but has been working as a freelance solicitor and lecturer since 2008. He continues to prosecute and defend cases all over Greater Manchester and beyond and also assesses and lectures extensively on several Litigation, Advocacy and Client Care courses.

He has lead the establishment and development of student legal Clinics at The University of Law, University of Sunderland, King's College London and the University of York. He qualified as a solicitor in the Government Legal Service and his teaching interests include clinical legal education, interdisciplinary education, legal and professional skills, and public interest litigation.

Tricia Chatterton

Tricia has extensive experience in the education and training of present and future lawyers. As a solicitor she practised in both corporate and private client areas of practice, giving her invaluable insights to pass on to her students. Her move into education started at the College of Law where she eventually led the Chester centre before moving to BPP where her various roles included setting up the first solicitor apprenticeship programmes. She has delivered mentoring and training to Barbri students since 2021.
